IRMAK SCHOOLS RAISE INDIVIDUALS THAT INQUIRE, SEARCH AND PROCESS INFORMATION

Irmak Schools founded in 1995 by Yapı Merkezi and Gençlik Kültür ve Hizmet Vakfı ,with the purpose of  universal rights in education, offer an environment that provides access to information, processing , sharing information and productivity in order to establish education of a world class quality and perspective.

Irmak Schools aim to raise individuals who are world citizens; literate in knowledge; equipped with universal values; and prepared to contribute with the true-bred human power of  the 21st century.

Educational Programme 

Irmak Schools provide complete learning by using “Multiple Intelligence” methods, considering that each child has a diverse learning style. PYP (Primary Years Programme) and MYP ( Middle Years Programme) of IBO (International Baccalaureate Organization) have been integrated in the main curriculum of our school. During the class hours, diverse class activities have been planned and implemented in order to enable students with their diversity of learning skills to recognize the connection between the world and the school curriculum, and to use the appropriate information, experience and inquiry methods. In Irmak Schools, “Technological Literacy” programme and “Qualified Individual Education” studies are held as well as the educational programmes .This will enable students to develop as individuals who can manage academic and cultural achievements.

 Our School 

Irmak Schools consist of Kindergarten, Primary School and High School. 

Admission 

While Kindergarten and 1^st grade students are accepted by interviews; the students of other grades of the primary school are accepted by Placement Tests.

Foreign Languages 

In Irmak Schools, the education of foreign languages is provided by both Turkish and native speakers of English  in consideration of the importance of learning English through experience at younger ages. In first and second grade, English Education is provided by native speakers of English. The main foreign language of Irmak Schools is English.  A Second foreign language-German is taught to the sixth and grades above. By taking the international curriculum as the base, NSP (Native Speakers Programme) studies are held for the students who are native speakers or able to communicate at that level. At Irmak Schools, the level of our students is assessed by Young Learners, SAT and TOEFL tests.

Social-Cultural Activities 

Apart from Art, Music, Computer, Science and Physical Education courses that are provided to first graders by teachers of the related branches, Chess and Drama are also among the compulsory courses. In the 2^nd and 3^rd grades Rhythm, Ceramic sculpture, Folk dance, Dance and Rhythmic-Gymnastic are elective courses. Beginning from the 4^th grade, club works  (Web design, Astronomy, Ornament Design, Art, Original Stamping, Drama, Musical, Orchestra, Chess, Basketball, Badminton) are held in order to help students improve themselves; express their creativity in science, society, art, culture and sports  by working systematically and with discipline. This will widen their points of view and raise their awareness which will lead to  an enrichment in life.
