School description

Changzhou International School is located in the north of Changzhou, a city famous for its rich history of 2,500 years. It's a state-owned pilot middle school and is under the joint management of Changzhou New District Government and Changzhou Education Bureau. With an investment of 190 million yuan, the school covers an area of 12.6 hectares, of which the architectural area makes up 70,000m2. There are now 75 classes and over 2100 students from both China and abroad. The school offers world-class facilities for the overall development of its students. These facilities include an art center, a reading center, an information center with a campus network, and a science center.

In addition, the school has an indoor stadium with a 200-meter-long plastic racetrack, a heated swimming pool, a skating rink, a track and field sports ground with a 400-meter-long outdoor plastic track, as well as basketball, volleyball and table tennis courts. Over the past six years, guided by modern educational concepts, the school has formulated a curriculum parallel to that of quality educational systems around the world. Besides fulfilling the teaching plan assigned by the state, the school places a great emphasis on researching the front subjects related to elementary education such as small-sized classes, bilingual teaching, streaming, research-style study, and international courses.
